User-Centered Design/ RESEARCH /Mobile App Development / Prototyping & Testing
As part of this team project, we focused on tackling the growing concern of auto burglary, especially in urban environments. We designed a digital solution that combines motion sensors, hidden cameras, and real-time alerts through a mobile app called "V-MAT."
The goal is to create a user-friendly product that helps car owners monitor their vehicles and receive immediate notifications if any suspicious activity is detected, ultimately enhancing vehicle security and user peace of mind.
Style Guide
Notification, Map, & Parking Feature
The app also uses location tracking to adjust based on the driver’s current location, offering relevant updates from nearby users. Color variations show the amount of activity in a specific area, with pinpoints and numbers indicating the number of posts. A filter is available to help users easily find parking lots, making it simple to assess safety before parking.
Car Security System
With the car security system, you can activate or deactivate it, and the rearview mirror camera detects motion around your car, sending notifications if anything suspicious happens. The calendar feature also lets you easily access and review past footage.
Community Feed
The community feature in our app allows users to alert others about recent incidents or crimes in the area. Posts are labeled with the type of crime, helping everyone stay informed. Users can also make their own posts and view reviews on parking lots to assess their safety.
Security
Quickly report a crime, call 911, and get crime reporting tips, all within the car security feature, making it easy to respond to incidents immediately.
Profile & Settings
Manage your account by editing your profile, updating vehicle details, adjusting your presence settings, and customizing camera settings, all within the app for a personalized experience.
